“What if we get rid of our customary viewpoints and start looking at things in a different way?”
I just watched the first Block of TEDx Breda and am in the middle of processing the performers’ contribution.
For those of you who are not familiar with TED – it is a nonprofit organization born in 1984. It uses annual conferences in Long Beach, Palm Springs and Edinburgh to connect people from the fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design. Besides this, several other events and activities including TED Fellows, TED Talks, Open Translation Project and the annual TED Prize all aim at their mission to spread ideas to change lives, attitudes and eventually the world.
Today a TEDx takes place in Breda, the city where our team studies. TEDx is a program of local organized events, planned and coordinated independently, that brings people together to pitch their ideas in 18 minutes and also engages people to interact with each other. Unfortunately, there was only room for 100 visitors at the event itself, but luckily there is a livestream available!
The performers share their personal views on things that happen in their daily lives. Topic range from questioning the existence of leadership to what your brain goes through when taking the train – From seeing the positive things in making errors to looking at boardroom tables in Europe – and much more.
Watching TEDx will make you laugh, think, wipe a tear of your face and will enrich you in multiple ways.
Livestream is available at www.TEDxBreda.nl, Go watch it – it’s worth your time!
